ARL is a group of researchers solving critical scientific problems and generating knowledge for the future. The organization's structure and values promote innovation through dynamic interdisciplinary collaborations.
ARL divisions include:
As of July 1, 2009, two former ARL divisions/subdivisions became separate departments and moved to academic colleges as part of the university’s transformation initiative. * Biomedical Engineering – became the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the College of Engineering. (the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Engineering remains in ARL.) * Neurobiology – became the Department of Neuroscience as part of the new School of Mind, Brain, & Behavior within the College of Science.
ARL divisions also collaborate with other organizations at the University of Arizona and world-wide. Examples include: BIO5 (The University of Arizona Institute for Collaborative Bioresearch), National Geographic's Genographic Project, Arizona Cancer Center, Arizona Water Institute, Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center, Department of Chemistry, and many others.
Support services for ARL divisions are provided by the ARL Business Office and the ARL BCF.
